The Tax Lot Allocation feature allows you to designate specific tax lots to sell/closing transactions at the time a trade order is submitted (stock or option orders only). You also have the ability to modify tax lot allocations on previous orders with tax lot designations.

To designate a specific tax lot on an order:

  1. Check the box for "Select a Tax Lot" on the order entry page
  2. Enter, preview, and submit the order
  3. At the order confirmation page, click the "Allocate Tax Lots" button
  4. Enter the quantity from each tax lot that you would like to be designated for a specific trade (allocated shares must equal the order quantity)
  5. Submit the tax lot allocation
